Earldean Daughtry Starke, 93 of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Magnolia Gardens in Warrenton.

Mrs. Starke was born May 30, 1917 in Northampton County, the daughter of Walter Vance and Jessie Holloman Daughtry. She married the late John Wesley Starke and moved to Roanoke Rapids, where she became a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was active in her church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Starke was a devoted wife, mother and servant of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Louise Witt, and a brother, William Daughtry.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Blackerby and her husband, Glenn, of Raleigh; two sisters, Jessie Mae Bailey of Jackson and Kathryn Grant of Conway; and several nieces and nephews.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held in the chapel on Saturday, July 10, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
